About Me

Hello, I am Shariq Naiyer.

I am a software engineer based in Edmonton, Alberta.

I work at Effortless Admin, building and maintaining systems that administer benefits for 100k+ employees across Canada.

Before that, I spent a year and a half at Wound3, a medical imaging startup, where I led the backend and AWS infrastructure for a wound scanning system that lets patients be monitored from home instead of a hospital waiting room.

I was an Ethereum Protocol Fellow with the Ethereum Foundation, and later worked with ReamLabs on Ream, a consensus client written in Rust that aims to bring shorter slots, faster finality and post quantum security to the Ethereum L1 consensus layer.

I studied Computing Science at the University of Alberta and finished the four year degree in three. While I was in school I built a 3D printing service for people in Edmonton.

Off work, I bike, lift, and keep the 3D printers running. I also tinker with a homelab and a split keyboard, and keep track of what I am reading on the bookshelf.
